CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION

Featuring Kelly Lise Murray, J.D

Join us for an insightful two-part CLE program exploring key issues in family, estate, and elder law.

In the first session, “Home Alone: Single Senior Decisions About Housing Loans & House ReSale,” Professor Murray addresses the growing challenges seniors face in maintaining or regaining homeownership as mortgage qualifications tighten with age. Attendees will learn proactive strategies to expand financing options for senior clients, and discover best practices for home resale terms following the 2024 NAR Settlement and related antitrust cases.

The second session, “Legal Ethics and Malpractice Exposure of Math Mistakes in Divorce,” focuses on the ethical and professional duties lawyers face when financial errors arise in divorce settlements. Professor Murray will guide participants through disclosure obligations, potential malpractice exposure, and relevant ABA Formal Opinions and professional conduct rules, offering practical insights into navigating complex ethical gray areas.

Together, these sessions provide actionable tools to strengthen client advocacy, reduce legal risk, and enhance professional practice in today’s evolving real estate and family law landscape.
