Executive Director Departure

From Cat Jones, Board President

It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the Board of Directors announces Jaime Hansen’s departure as Executive Director of Family Advocates. Since 2015, Jaime has played a critical role in the development and success of the organization, and while we will miss her, we wish her the best of luck in her future role. We want to thank her for the years of dedicated service which involved many significant accomplishments, including:

  • Improved relationships with numerous stakeholders.
  • Transformed assets from $370,482 in FY2016 to $841,392 in FY2019 with four months of operating reserve.
  • Established positive and effective communication channels across nonprofit partners, government agencies, universities, and statewide entities through the streamlining of programs.
  • Increased staff and volunteers to 18 FTEs and 300+ respectively, thereby offering services to more children and families in Idaho.

Over the next few months, we will be conducting a search to find the new Family Advocates Executive Director. During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization. We will share the job announcement soon and ask for your help in identifying candidates who can help Family Advocates continue along this successful trajectory.

Again, we cannot thank Jaime enough for the dedication, passion, enthusiasm and motivation she has given Family Advocates over the past four years. She will be greatly missed by the staff, Board Members and partners alike. We look forward to following the success of her career and are hopeful and excited for the next chapter of Family Advocates as we continue to support in our important work to end child abuse and neglect in our community.

From Jaime Hansen, Executive Director

Four years goes quickly when you’re busy. I accepted the role at Family Advocates because I was passionate about children’s justice and the well-being of families but that alone wasn’t enough to keep me all these years. The reason why I stayed at Family Advocates was because of the hundreds of phenomenal volunteers and donors as well as the staff that made me want to be better, stronger, and more resilient.

I want to give my deepest gratitude to all who have been so supportive of the organization and of me personally over the years: staff, board members, and, of course, our community partners. Without you, the organization would not be as strong and vibrant as it is. I am so honored to have been the leader of this incredible organization and will watch with much excitement and anticipation as it makes strides in supporting and creating solutions to end and prevent child abuse, neglect, and abandonment.

I feel confident in the work of the wonderful directors here, they will continue keeping children safe and families strong throughout this transition. The board and I aim for my tenure to end on December 15th and I hope that we get to connect before then. A recruiter has been hired to support the board in recruiting and the job posting can be found on the Idaho Nonprofit Center’s Job Board.

Thank you for four wonderful years.
